How to Make $200 a Day Selling AI PDFs: A Simple Digital Product Strategy

 

Would you believe me if I told you images of ducks are making serious money for creators online right now? Simple images that people can download and print are generating unbelievable money, and you can do it too. You don’t need to worry about the cost of the product, shipping, or any other hustle that comes with selling physical products.

All you have to do is use AI to create a very simple image, list it, and people will buy it, print it, and hang it on their walls.

During my research, I found a creator on Etsy who made $10,581 in 20 days selling this same AI-generated duck PDF, and that’s going to be the case study for this post.

If you’re just starting and you have no money, I’d advise you to start on Etsy since it’s more beginner-friendly and appropriate for your budget. After you’ve made significant income on Etsy, you create a Shopify store and then scale further with Meta Ads.

The reason this works so well is that it’s unique and it’s cheap compared to physical versions people can buy in stores. People will rather buy an image for $4 and print it for their walls than buy a $30 framed image.

Find winning product ideas.

The first thing you have to do is consciously scroll to Etsy to look for digital wall art that is selling really well right now. This is what you’ll use as inspiration for creating your own. At the time of writing this, the duck PDFs are the bestsellers, and they keep popping up where I go.

After finding the profitable idea you want to copy, you save the image so that you can use it as inspiration for Nano Banana when creating your own version.

Create your product using Nano Banana.

After getting the image from Etsy, you open up Nano Banana and upload the image as a reference and use a well-structured prompt to create your own version of the image. For the case of the duck image, the prompt below will do the work just fine.

“Drawing inspiration from this, create a minimal, aesthetic duck illustration for nursery wall decor. Soft pastel colors, folk art style, textured watercolour background”

This prompt will give you your own version of the already proven duck PDF, and you can go ahead with it without worrying about any issues in the future.

Upload to Etsy.

After creating your image in Nano Banana, the next thing you need to do is put it on Etsy, where people can start buying it. There are a few things you need to know about selling on Etsy. Etsy is like a marketplace, so if you know how to position yourself very well, it will sell your product for you without you having to lift a finger. Below is how you’ll list your product on Etsy.

1. Find a keyword-rich title for your product. Since Etsy is a marketplace, people are constantly searching for things, and the only way you can pop up when someone searches for what you’re selling is if you use enough keywords to name your product.
2. Use a straightforward and transparent description. You need to tell your customers what they will be getting when they buy your product. Disclose that it is a downloadable PDF of the image art that they can print for their wall decor. It’s not very far-fetched for people to think you’re selling the already printed product.
3. Price around $4–8. This is the sweet spot when it comes to selling digital wall art. You price too low or too high, and you’ll be shooting yourself in the foot. You need to be right around the area where your competitors are selling.
4. Upload mockups of your product. This allows you to look more professional and also shows your potential customer how the product will turn out for them. For example, you can create a mockup of the duck image printed, framed, and hung above a crib to show how it would look if they bought it. And don’t worry, Nano Banana can do this for you as well.

That’s it. After all these steps, you can now publish your product.

The product is live. What next?

After your product goes live, you have two options:

1. Sit down, fold your arms, and wait for Etsy to be kind to you.
2. Promote the product yourself to increase your sales without solely depending on Etsy.

This is passive income, so I’d understand if you just want to upload and leave it to Etsy. But if you want to take this to the next level, where you can make a significant income from this, I’d advise you to promote it yourself.

When it comes to wall art and home decor, there’s no better place to promote than Pinterest. People are constantly scrolling on Pinterest looking for inspiration for their next home decor project, and that’s where you can find your customers. Create 3 to 5 pins every day to promote your product.
