This is where you come in.

You’d be surprised how many people are willing to pay really good money to have their trash cans pressure washed once a month or even once a week.

Someone recently left a door-hanging flyer at my house advertising this exact service. What shocked me even more than the prices they were charging—considering how little time it takes to clean one trash can—was how excited people were about it.

I recently saw a post on Nextdoor where someone said they discovered a mobile trash can cleaning service and didn’t even know this type of service existed. The comments were filled with people who were overwhelmingly excited about it.

How to Get Started

The best part? Getting started is cheap and easy.

All you need is
  • A pressure washer (a $70–$150 battery-powered one works fine)
  • A soap attachment
  • Soap (cheap hardware-store cleaner or watered-down Dawn dish soap)
You can also use a cheap sprayer from Walmart or a hardware store.

That’s basically all the equipment you need.

How to Get Customers

You can promote your business for free by posting in:
  • Local Facebook groups
  • Craigslis
  • Nextdoor
But if you want to get even more business, you should also create door-hanging flyers.

These are incredibly cheap. On sites like Vistaprint, you can buy 1,000 flyers for about $100, or start smaller if you want.

In total, between the pressure washer and flyers, you’re looking at $100–$300 to get started.

I’ve seen people charge:
  • $65 for a one-time cleaning
  • $35 for monthly service
  • +$10 for each additional trash can

A couple of years ago, when I first started my YouTube channel, I bought a couple pieces of artwork on Etsy. Each one costs around $200.

Later, I learned something interesting.

The seller didn’t actually print or ship the artwork themselves. They used a print-on-demand service like Printify to handle everything.

All the seller did was
  1. Create the artwork.
  2. Upload it to Printify.
  3. Link Printify to Etsy.
Once a customer places an order, Printify handles manufacturing, printing, and shipping.

“But I’m Not an Artist”

That’s fine.

A lot of the artwork that sells extremely well is
  • Motivational quotes
  • Power words with definitions
  • Pop culture-inspired designs
  • Public domain artwork
Some motivational posters sell for $654 to over $3,300, depending on size.

You don’t need to hand-paint anything.

How to Create the Art

You can:
  • Download free images from Unsplash.
  • Use Photoshop actions from Envato Elements.
  • Turn photos into impressionist art, scribble art, or stylized designs.

Here’s what most people don’t know:

If someone watches at least 30 seconds of your video review and then buys the product (or a similar one), you earn a commission.

Hardly anyone is doing this.

Some products with hundreds of thousands of sales have zero video reviews.

Amazon pays around 2% commission on electronics.

The product has thousands of reviews and the Amazon’s Choice label, meaning it’s selling extremely well.

How to Find Winning Products

You work backwards:
  1. Choose Etsy or Amazon.
  2. Look at categories.
  3. Analyze reviews and sales.
  4. Check Google Trends.

If something has:

  • Lots of reviews
  • Consistent search interest

…it’s likely a winning product.

Once you find it, you:
  • Source it on AliExpress.
  • Set up your store.
  • Optimize listings with SEO.
  • Use good product images.
  • Optionally run ads.
