I Asked ChatGPT For a Business Idea. Here’s What Happened

Last year, an idea from ChatGPT made me nearly $15,000.

At the time, I was writing on Medium and getting decent traffic

So I asked ChatGPT a simple question:“How could I monetize this?”


That idea was completely foreign to me. I had never made a digital product before, never sold anything online, and barely knew what Gumroad was.

So I asked ChatGPT to walk me through it step by step.

Over the next 3 hours, I used AI to help me:
  • Brainstorm ideas
  • Structure the product
  • Write the content
  • Design the PDF
  • Set up a Gumroad account
  • Create the product page
The next day, I made my first 4 sales, about $20 total.

Not life-changing money, but it felt different.

For the first time, I realized the internet had changed. One person with an idea and AI tools could build something incredibly fast.

Over the following weeks and months, I kept experimenting.

I created more digital products, improved my articles, tested different ideas, and learned what people actually wanted.

Today, that small experiment has grown into a business that generates around $5,000 per month and gives me far more flexibility and peace of mind than I had before.
